Data Structures has successfully completed the installation of a 59.5m lattice telecoms tower, overcoming a number of significant site challenges through careful planning and on-site expertise.

With limited compound space, narrow access tracks, and restricted crane reach, the project required a hands-on approach. The final 17.5m tower sections were manually installed beyond crane reach, demonstrating the experience and adaptability of our installation teams in challenging environments.

By making best use of available resources and applying proven techniques, the team was able to safely and efficiently complete the structure to full height, delivering another high-quality outcome for our client.

Throughout the project, strong collaboration with the client, as well as positive engagement with local residents and hikers, ensured smooth progress and minimal disruption on site.

The completed tower will support a range of critical infrastructure, including mobile networks, broadcast radio, critical communications, point-to-point links, and local area WiFi coverage for the population of North East Wicklow and South Dublin areas. 🇮🇪

Projects like this highlight the importance of experience, problem-solving, and teamwork in delivering reliable infrastructure in complex conditions.

The telecoms tower build season is now underway for Data Structures, with several major infrastructure projects progressing across Ireland and the UK.
Our team has begun installation of a 59.5m SLX5T multi-user mobile and telecoms tower in Ireland, designed to provide additional payload capacity and replace an existing 42m SLX5T tower later this summer.

Next on the programme is the installation of a 120m SLX5W heavy-duty met tower supporting a new wind farm development in Scotland, followed by a 62m SLX4T-600 heavy-duty broadcast guyed lattice mast in Ireland. The new broadcast structure will replace an existing UM50 mast, originally installed by members of our current team back in 1994.

Following these projects, Data Structures will deliver two new 36m SLX5T lattice towers in Ireland, ahead of the next phase of tower construction planned under this framework contract later in 2026.


Alongside these telecoms and broadcast installations, our met mast teams remain active across Ireland and Scotland, delivering multiple 80m–120m structures, while our LiDAR rental fleet continues supporting wind measurement campaigns scheduled for Q2.

With a strong pipeline of projects across telecoms, broadcast and renewable energy infrastructure, the coming months promise to be a busy period for our crews on the ground.

To ensure flexibility across a range of site conditions, our units are available:

  • As stand-alone deployments
  • Coupled with met mast packages
  • Integrated with hybrid PV + fuel cell power supply systems, enabling operation in remote and off-grid environments

All operation and maintenance services are delivered by our in-house, OEM-trained technicians, ensuring high standards of performance, compliance and data integrity throughout each campaign.

As we close out 2025, we’re pleased to share a snapshot of several major projects currently moving through their final stages. Each one has been delivered by our in-house teams with the support of our trusted specialist partners.

Projects nearing completion include:

▶️ 42m telecoms tower – County Kerry
A robust multi-user tower designed to enhance local connectivity and long-term network resilience.

▶️ 80m met mast – County Tipperary
Providing investment-grade wind data to support ongoing renewable energy development in the region.

▶️ 100m met mast – Inverness-shire
A fully equipped structure built to perform in challenging terrain and winter conditions.

▶️ 120m met mast – Civils phase – Scottish Borders
Our tallest temporary structure, currently underway, with foundation and civils completion marking another major milestone.

We look forward to sharing further updates early in the new year.
